The forecast promised that it would be windy early, and then shut down after lunch. I guess no one believed the forecast. Dog River for coffee - (Jim S. twice). Then we walked down to the Hood River Hotel for breakfast, but there was a lineup, so we went back up to Bett's.
We arrived at the Hatchery, just before noon. Most rigged 4.2's and I rigged a 4.8. I went out, and couldn't get going. The current was very strong. I couldn't get planing, and couldn't fight the current. I ended up landing a Kodiak point.... Fortunately it wasn't very busy. I did learn how to climb out of the river over the rocks. You line up your board and sail, and then climb out holding only your board. When you are up over the first few rocks, you reach back and lift the sail. It was a long walk back to our launch carrying my rig....

This is the launch site at "Kodiak Point"
The wind shut off fairly suddenly. I managed to get back to the launch, which was better than some.

Jim - all loaded up and heading for the hot tub...
